A Day with the Maple Leafs

PWU President’s Bulletin: PR18-03
January 15, 2018

I am pleased to inform you that the Power Workers’ Union (PWU) will be hosting, A Day with The Maple Leafs. This will be the first in a very special series of PWU family events that will be taking place across Ontario over the next three years. This first event will be held in Oshawa, Ontario at the Tribute Communities Centre on Saturday, February 10, 2018 between 9am and 3pm.

The planned activities taking place at this event include:

  • Free on-ice skating for all registrants; now from 9am – 3pm!
  • The Maple Leafs Mobile Fan Zone – an interactive display that allows participants to experience what it is like to be inside the Maple Leafs’ dressing room.
  • A meet, greet and photo opportunity where PWU members and their families will have a chance to talk and take a photo with Wendel Clark, community ambassador for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
  • A Hockey Clinic – on-ice instruction from Maple Leaf alumni in the afternoon for your children of all skill levels between 7 and 12 years of age.
  • Free BBQ lunch – served between 11am and 1pm.

PWU Members can register by filling in all of the required information fields on the Registration Form. The capacity of the on-ice activities is limited so those who wish to take part in those activities must register as soon as possible. The registration form can be found at:

Sharpen the rust off of your skates and bring the kids out for a day of fun amongst your fellow PWU members and their families at your local arena. It’s a PWU family event that that will leave everyone involved with some great memories that are sure to last a lifetime. I look forward to seeing you all there.

In solidarity,

Mel Hyatt
