With Pickering Nuclear ceasing operations in 2025 and new procurement mechanisms not being ready until that year, Ontario risks being left without cost-effective, viable supply solutions. In this submission, the PWU recommends IESO accelerate the procurement timeline for new low-emitting resources, and seek solutions to broader system needs beyond capacity alone.
